A new year begins, and just like the start of a new school term, it’s the perfect time to set goals, tasks, and intentions for the months ahead. Often, the big question is: how can we organize our time and tasks more effectively?
One particularly interesting (and analog) method for getting organized is Strikethru. It’s a pencil-and-paper system designed to manage your day-to-day, blending elements of the Bullet Journal method with ideas from the Getting Things Done philosophy.
This method introduces a few key concepts:
- The Live List: the list you refer to every time you sit down to work. It should include everything that needs to get done right now. It can work as a “to-do today” list or as a permanent running list of tasks.
- The Dump: a space to capture anything that comes to mind—pending tasks, ideas, future plans, wild dreams, things to research later, or even overheard quotes.
- The Vault: a place to store tasks that can later be assigned to a specific list.
