Recently, at Baobab Soluciones, we had the opportunity to appear on Radio Marca Vitoria in an interview focused on a topic as engaging as it is complex: optimizing the EuroLeague schedule.
The conversation stemmed from an analysis carried out by our team on the logistical impact this competition has on clubs. With 18 teams spread across Europe and an increasingly demanding calendar, the EuroLeague presents a major planning challenge: long travel distances, double-game weeks, increased player workload, and higher operational costs.
In this context, we explained on air how our approach, based on mathematical models and optimization algorithms, allows us to tackle highly complex problems like this in a rigorous and efficient way. During the interview, we discussed how applying these tools makes it possible to propose alternative schedules that reduce thousands of kilometers traveled by teams, with a direct impact on costs, player recovery, and overall sustainability.
Beyond the specific case of the EuroLeague, the interview also served to showcase what we do at Baobab Soluciones and our area of expertise. We help companies make better decisions in complex environments by translating real business problems into mathematical models that identify optimal or more efficient solutions. This is the same approach we apply in areas such as logistics, transportation, operations planning, and resource allocation.
Our appearance on Radio Marca Vitoria was therefore a great opportunity to bring this expertise to a wider audience and demonstrate how well-applied mathematics can have a tangible impact on real-world challenges, even in professional sports.
